Friends of DRBG

The Friends of the Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden are a socially active and enthusiastic group who guide visitors, assist with maintaining the gardens, uphold the spirit of our Sister City relations, and stage special events throughout the year.

Some of our “Friends” simply enjoy a pleasant garden setting to relax in and they choose to slot in a morning one weekend a month per month to meet and greet our many visitors to the garden. Some “Friends” choose to become a part of the “Wednesday Morning” group who meet for a chat, morning tea and attend to the odd chores around the Garden. Other “Friends” enjoy assisting with school groups and bus tours on a week day.

“Friends” can also participate in bus tours to other gardens and events that are arranged as opportunities and numbers permit.

Become a Friend or volunteer

Volunteers play an important role in our community and the Friends of Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden are no exception. By donating their time, skill, experience and caring spirit they positively contribute to the gardens being an asset for residents and visitors alike.

Many people find being a volunteer personally rewarding and the level of involvement is entirely up to the individual. If you are passionate about gardening, or think you would enjoy spending time helping others appreciate the serene surrounds of the Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden, then contact Council on 6801 4000 to find out more.
